Manufacturer Description

In plants carbon, in the form of CO2 is absorbed by plant leaves and converted into carbohydrates which are required for plant growth. In an aquarium it can be provided by injecting CO2 gas into the water but this required complicated and expensive equipment.
TNC Carbon contains a compound which provides the plants with carbon but without the equipment necessary for CO2 injection.
A good supply of carbon helps to ensure strong and healthy plants which in turn reduces the risk of algae. It is a fact that one of the principle causes of algae is a lack of carbon which leads to unhealthy plants. On the other hand healthy plants are greedy plants and will out compete algae and use up any available nutrients. TNC Carbon does not contain nitrates, phosphates or any other nutrients and so it can be used in conjunction with other plant foods with no danger of over fertilising. It is compatable with TNC Complete, TNC Lite and TNC Plugs.
If you have a CO2 injection system it can also be used as a supplementary carbon source.
The normal dose rate for TNC Carbon is 1ml per 50 litres, which means that 250ml will treat up to 12500 litres
